A Malaysian citizen, is
the Independent Non-Executive Director of
ATS. He is a Fellow Member of The Institute
of Chartered Accountants in England &
Wales. He did his accountancy articleship
in London and qualified as Chartered Accountant
in 1969. His career started when he joined
Peat Marwick. Mitchell & Co., London
(now known as KPMG, London).
In 1972, he joined Standard
Telephone & Cables Ltd., London (a subsidiary
of International Telephone & Telegraph,
USA) as Manager of Business Planning &
Budgeting. He was then transferred to Malaysia
in 1974 to take up the position of Financial
Controller of ITT Transelectronics (M) Sdn
Bhd, a manufacturer and exporter of consumer
electronic products. He then left and joined
Palmco Holdings Berhad in 1981 as Group
Financial Controller and was promoted to
Group Finance Director in 1983.
Subsequently he left in
1987 to join KPMG Peat Marwick Consultants
Sdn Bhd as Director of the company. In 1989,
he left Malaysia to join his family in London
and took up the position as Group Finance
Director of Marshall Cavendish Limited,
a major publishing group with head- quarters
in London. In 1992, he was promoted to Chief
Executive Officer and was instrumental in
the formulation of the Group’s global
strategy, developing new markets and restructuring
of the publisher’s operations in London,
Paris, Hamburg and Sydney.
He returned to Malaysia
in 1997 and is currently working as a senior
consultant undertaking engagements in company
restructuring, turnaround and general financial
advisory services in Malaysia. |
